On Saturday November 1st we held A Night Amongst Butterflies, in the beautiful Piazza della Valle, Main Road McLaren Vale.
We were joined by over 150 guests to enjoy an evening raising awareness and of course much needed funds for the WCH Paediatric Palliative Care Service.
A mix and mingle night amongst the stars with live music from Courtney Robb and Jericho Kings
the Guests were treated to a delicious dinner catered by Aussie Ripper Roast (and it was delicious)
We had many Silent Auctions that had been generously donated by businesses and lots of raffle prizes, so there were a lot of happy people going home with some lovely items.
As the night went on, I spoke about why we fundraise for the WCH Paediatric Palliative Care, as we decided that we wanted to know where all our fundraising efforts go and being one of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation Families we know that our fundraising is directed straight to our area of choice. The service that gave Mason and our family as much care and comfort possible during his journey with MLD.
Sara Fleming, (Masons Palliative Care nurse) also spoke to make awareness of how their service care for the families and are so very honoured to be a part of the child and families journeys at such a hard time in their lives.
which brought a tear to many, and also allowed people into a little of the things they see and are a part of on a daily basis.
The night was a wonderful success and we were so pleased to have raised $18,093 which we know will go to help give comfort to many families that the WCH Paediatric Palliative Care service care for.
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the guests that attended the night, also to the many businesses who kindly donated to our event, many supporting for the 2nd and 3rd time, without your generosity we wouldn’t be able to organise such a wonderful event.
I’d personally like to thank my family for putting up with the mess around our home and my frantic times whilst putting this all together
and to my parents who do so much behind the scenes, as well as donating many of the prizes on the night. ( a years worth of mum collecting goodies)
